Welcome to your first prompt! It’s good you’re blocking out a few minutes to write amidst the chaos. The Saturday after Thanksgiving is usually about leftovers and Football. This newsletter is called “Write Bites” but has nothing to do with food; it’s important for you to know that. But this being the first post and all, let’s lean into the holiday. ‘Tis the season.

This prompt can be done in any medium: prose, play scene, poetry, screenplay scene, etc. 

Bite 1: Forgotten

In the medium of your choice, write from the perspective of the turkey who, year after year, has been pushed out of the spotlight in favor of Santa Claus, Christmas trees, and peppermint mocha lattes. Who or what is to blame for this, and how does an aging, near-retirement turkey fix it? Can a season of hand-paper turkeys and cornucopia decor put this turkey center stage again? Explore these questions from the turkey’s perspective.
