Prompt #44

"i am agog, i am aghast"

First of all, isn’t this stock photo so funny? What was the concept of this shoot? I’m dying to know.

Anyway, my family commented that every time I call them from the car, I monologue about the folks walking outside in LA unmasked (near a burn zone). I sound like an aging grandpa on the stoop talking about “kids these days, they have no sense.” I own that. I probably do sound like that,t but I am also right, so…

Today’s prompt is about annoyances, offenses, and how characters react to them!

A character (not in action) has done something to irritate/offend/annoy your character to no end. Write a monologue from this character’s perspective showcasing what this offense was and how furious/agitated this has made them. Let them spiral.

I’m watching Severance Season 2, The move to The Little Red Book, and TikTok’s funeral, and this Tiktok that absolutely rocked me to my core.

I’m reading this essay by poet Louise Glück, Writing as Transformation, from the New Yorker.

I’m listening to… my record collection to remind myself to invest in physical media because digital media can disappear! At any time! We have no control over it!
