Prompt #51

I recently taught a class where we discussed character internal conflicts, so I wanted to do a prompt for that today! I don’t have any fun anecdotes to share, sorry!! I made an instagram for screenwriting & teaching, so I put all my anecdotes there now. Guess you’ll have to follow to see what I’m up to. But onto the prompt!

Write a scene where a character argues with themselves about something important to them.

Set a timer and write for at least 10 minutes!

I’m watching two docs about Black people in Entertainment!! Seen & Heard, on Max, and Number One on the Call Sheet on Apple +. Kind of the push I needed this week.

I’m reading about how Tarriffs will hit Hollywood and Employment data from the WGA that makes me want to push someone in front of a studio tour golf cart, but then I watch The Studio as a palette cleanser to reduce my anger levels.

I’m listening to (and sort of watching)… Couchella!! My favorite time of the year to ignore the outside world, order takeout and drink fruity beer in my pajamas!
