Prompt #9

I'm Hungies for Monies

Over the holiday, the news that there may be another major media conglomerate merger sent me into a tailspin, and it got me thinking about greedy characters and the path of destruction that lies in their wake. Fun!!

Write a scene where Character A wants to take something of value from Character B, where Character B is initially in a disadvantaged position to say no. “Character” can be a person, a group, a company, a hive of bees, or whatever you want. And “Something of value” doesn’t necessarily have to mean monetary value.

A few questions to help get the juices flowin: Think about what’s at stake, why they want it or why don’t they want to give it up? Does Character A feel entitled to it? How far are they willing to go to get it?

Set your timer for 10 minutes and write!

I’m watching A Murder at the End of the World on Hulu and Great British Baking Show: Holidays (I’m behind, I know)

I’m reading this post from (by fellow TV Writer Ali Vingiano) announcing the return of her Artists’ Way 12-week study group. If you’re interested in joining, here’s more info. Maybe this is the push I need to make it past the Media Deprivation week!

I’m listening to Pod Save America & Crooked’s other primary race coverage (the Georgia pod is v good!).

How did it go? Let me know in the comments! Next week is our 10th week together!! I have a fun little challenge planned for us all. See you then!
